1. Pre-book your holiday activities in advance

Can't wait to get on board your ship and melt into a massage or make the most of your destinations with a range of once-in-a-lifetime shore experiences? If this is your first time on a cruise you might not know you can pre-book many of your holiday experiences both on board and ashore. So, if you’re planning to enjoy particular activities on your holiday, booking in advance will not only help you budget but, as reservations can fill up quickly, it’ll mean you won’t miss out.

At my.pocruises.com you can book your shore experiences, spa treatments and drinks packages before your holiday begins.

2. Delve into the destinations that lie ahead

One of the best things about a cruise holiday is that you get to see more of your dream destinations in one trip. And when you holiday with P&O Cruises, you’ll get a full day in almost every place. Plus, as we have more cruises with evening and overnight stays, you might enjoy the chance to soak up the local nightlife and an extra day to explore in more depth.

So, it’s worth looking into each stop on your itinerary so you can make the most of your time ashore. Perhaps you want to explore nearby or venture further afield to uncover hidden gems off the beaten track? Whatever you fancy doing, make sure you familiarise yourself with the distance from your attractions to your ship (to make sure you’re back in time before it departs) or look into a shore experience and we’ll take care of it for you. When you holiday with us, we’ll send you up-to-date digital port guides full of local information and recommendations for all your destinations.

3. Take a carry-on bag on board

When you board your ship, it may take a few hours for your suitcases to be delivered to your cabin. If you bring along everything you need for your first day in a carry-on bag you won’t have to wait to start enjoying your ship. As well as essentials such as your passport, basic toiletries, sun cream and a change of clothing, why not also pack your bathing suit so you can have a dip in the pool? And, when you’re off exploring ashore your carry-on bag will come in handy for any souvenirs you pick up for the folks back home.
