Your itinerary checklist

For her season in the fjords, Iona offers two seven-day itineraries: one features Stavanger, Olden and Haugesand (with sail-bys in Innvikfjorden, Nordfjord, Sunnylvsfjorden and Storfjroden); the other features Stavanger, Olden, Ålesund and Haugesund (with sail-bys in Nordfjord and Innvikfjorden).

Stavanger

Known as the ‘Cradle of the Vikings ’, offering the perfect introduction to Norway’s rich heritage. One of the region’s most dramatic natural wonders can be found here, too – Preikestolen, or Pulpit Rock, is sure to take your breath away, from above or below.

Olden

Dramatically positioned at the end of Nordfjord, Olden is surrounded by natural beauty: the Briksdal and Kjenndal glaciers are a sight to behold, while the Loen Skylift, which soars up from the Loen valley to the top of Mount Hoven, offers unforgettable views.

Ålesund

Not only Norway’s largest fishing port but Europe’s most complete Art Nouveau city. Look beyond the fairy-tale architecture and soak up the stunning scenery that surrounds you – the city is strung out over a series of islands with views of the Geirangerfjord and the glorious Sunnmøre Alps.

Haugesund

‘The birthplace of modern Norway’, Haugesund is steeped in history and Viking lore, but it’s the region’s cultural centre too, with a lively buzz, great shopping and plenty of picturesque charm. It’s also an excellent jumping-off point for adventures further afield, from Langfoss waterfall to hiking in Djupadalen.

Innvikfjorden, Nordfjord, Sunnylvsfjorden and Storfjorden

Your sea day treats with cascading waterfalls, dramatic cliffs, snow-capped peaks, fairy-tale forests and lush green pastures as you relax on ship.
