Is the water on a cruise ship safe to drink?

It’s perfectly safe to drink the water from the taps on board our ships, wherever your holiday takes you. You can also order complimentary tap water from all the bars, restaurants and cafés on board, or pour your own in the buffet restaurant.

Do bars show the sports on board?

A sports channel called Sport 24, which offers coverage of major events, is screened in selected venues on all our ships. You can find full details of the sporting events shown on board at www.sport24-tv.com . The channel is also available to view on your in-cabin TV, as is Sky Sports News.

Are there limits on the number of drinks included in the drinks packages?

You're entitled to up to 15 alcoholic drinks per day, per package. After which, any drinks will be charged at full price with a 20% discount. All non-alcoholic drinks included in the package are unlimited. Only one drink may be ordered per package at any one time at a minimum of 15-minute intervals.

Frequently asked questions

Each guest aged 18 years (21 years in United States of America ports) and older may bring up to one litre of wine or Champagne on board when they embark the ship for the first time only. Wine or Champagne over the one-litre limit will be stored and returned to the guest prior to the end of the cruise. If this alcohol is consumed in the dining rooms, bars, restaurants or lounge areas, it will be subject to a corkage fee of £20* per bottle, per occasion, which will be charged to the guest’s on-board account. Other alcohol types such as spirits are considered restricted items and guests are prohibited from bringing them on board when they first embark the ship.

It’s entirely your choice. You may either purchase a Drinks Package, or buy drinks as you go using your on-board account. Also, if you decide that you’d like to buy a Drinks Package once on board, you can do this within the first 2 days of your cruise, just speak to a member of our bar team. It’s worth remembering that Drinks Packages can only be purchased for cruises of 5 nights or longer.

From Ship to Shore, we are striving to be more sustainable. As a result, single use takeaway cups will no longer be available from our coffee shops and bars. You can now purchase a re-usable P&O Cruises travel cup for takeaway drinks. Or we’re happy to make a drink to-go in your own personal travel cup. These changes, along with others we’ve already made, ensure we continue to meet our sustainability goals.
