Bodrum is one of Turkey’s most famous resort towns. At first glance, it’s easy to see why. The sun often shines and the skies are almost always blue. Glorious beaches are fringed by charming buildings, shimmering blue waters, with bobbing superyachts, fishing boats, and a plethora of sights to see. Located along the south-west Aegean coast of Turkey, Bodrum is part of the province of Muğla. In ancient Greek, Bodrum was referred to as Halicarnassus, and was famed as the location of the tomb of Mausolus (one of the seven wonders of the ancient world and the origin of the modern word, ‘mausoleum’).
