Stretch your legs on an energetic hike to discover idyllic landscapes and spellbinding vistas.
Enjoy the scenic drive to the island of Godøya, lace up your boots and set off from the pretty 19th century Alnes Lighthouse. Beginning your ascent of Storhornet mountain, make your way up to a ridge and skirt the edge of the shimmering Alnes Lake, a popular fishing spot. Soon you’ll approach Johan Skytt – a flat rock that stretches out over the edge of the mountainside like the plank on a pirate ship.
Follow the trail and push on up to the mountain’s summit. When you arrive, you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking 360° panorama taking in the deep-blue Atlantic Ocean, beautiful Ålesund and the majestic Sunnmøre Alps. Spend some time soaking up the view and tuck into a picnic lunch before you head back down the trail.
