Travel to nearby Pæskatun, to the Northern Lights Camp, which is perched near the top of Mount Pæska, at about 200 meters above sea level. With fantastic views over Alta Valley and surrounded by mountains, it’s the perfect setting to spot the illusive light show. Watch an interesting Northern Lights presentation and get cosy around a campfire in a Sami tent, called a lavvu, or warm up in one of the small cabins with a hot drink and cake. Pæskatun was originally a slate quarry, and there’s a workshop filled with slate-working tools and historical pictures that you can visit.
