Visit Klungkung Kertagosa, a building designed and built in 1710 by some of the best artisans in the country at that time. Also known as ‘Taman Gili’ (the Floating Garden), this is where the King of Klungkung dealt out harsh punishments to criminals of the day. Before returning to the bus, take the opportunity to explore the textile market where you can see Balinese hand woven fabrics songket and endek which is just spectacular.
The next stop is the Pura Kehen Temple, which was constructed in the 13th century. Stepping through the ‘Kori Agung’ (stone capped gateway), there are elephant sculptures, which is unusual for a building of that age, as elephants are not native to Bali.

Afterward discover how local Balinese farmers growing rice paddy from seedlings, planting to harvesting. Learn about the traditional irrigation system called Subak.
Finally visit the Balinese home to meet with a local family who will serve you coffee, tea and Balinese snacks. Browse around the compound to observe the typical layout of a village home where each room has a specific function following the sacred of Balinese architecture.
