Sights And Sounds Of Bali

Visit the village of Tiingan, which is famous for the production of Balinese musical instruments such as the Gamelan. The Gamelan orchestra features a series of gongs that represent a sound which is very typical of Balinese music, and an important part of Balinese culture.

Continue to the village of Batuan to visit the home of legendary dancer, Ni Ketut Cenik, a Balinese woman who was a living legend of Balinese dance. She sadly passed away in July 2010 and would normally greet all guests personally at her home. Instead, her son Jimat and family members will extend the same warm welcome. A local Balinese Gamelan orchestra will play their beautiful music and refreshments of coffee and tea will be served.
Being the artistic capital of the island, no visit to Bali would be complete without seeing the work of local artists at Peliatan Village. Proceed to a local restaurant in Ubud, where you will dine on delicious Balinese cuisine whilst overlooking the rice fields close by.

In Kemenuh, a visit to the Bali Budaya wood carving studio is the perfect place to find skilled carvers turning slabs of teak and ebony wood into masks, religious figures and intricate wall decorations. Before departing, take the opportunity to browse in the large gallery where you may purchase the finished products.
