Experience Belize's mysterious past and vibrant present with a visit to an ancient Mayan site and the modern metropolis. In the historic capital, handsome colonial buildings rub shoulders with modern architecture and the Haulover Creek with its famous Swing Bridge runs through the centre of the city.
Then it's on to the ancient temples at Altun Ha, a Mayan settlement. The ceremonial site features two central plazas surrounded by mid-size pyramids. The largest of these temple pyramids is the 16m-high Temple of the Masonry Altars. You’ll also have time to shop for souvenirs and local crafts.
