Enjoy a taste of la dolce vita on the ancient lanes of Taormina and on the jagged slopes of Mt Etna.
A scenic ride through the beautiful Italian countryside will transport you to the ancient, clifftop city of Taormina, 213 metres above the Bay of Naxos.
Your informative guide will introduce you to Taormina's delights, including the Piazza Vittorio Emanuele and bustling Corso Umberto. But the highlight is sure to be the 3rd-century BC Greco-Roman theatre, which offers mesmerising views of Mt Etna and the Bay. Afterwards, you’ll have some free time to explore the stylish boutiques and cafés along Corso Umberto.
You’ll also visit Mt Etna, Europe's tallest and most active volcano – it’s erupted more than 130 times in recorded history. You'll travel to the dramatic Silvestri Craters, for spectacular views of the summit and the town of Catania, which was buried by an eruption more than 300 years ago. You’ll have some free time to explore the crater, before a traditional Sicilian lunch in a restaurant near the Silvestri Craters.
