The delightful resort town of Port Douglas is the perfect place to while away some time on your own.
Your 1½ drive northbound will take in spectacular scenery with the Queensland coastline on one side and rainforest on the other. Upon arrival, you’ll have around 3½ hours to spend your time as you please. Perhaps head into the town and browse the boutiques, village shops and galleries or purchase a drink or lunch in one of the boardwalk cafés or restaurants. You can also perhaps visit the lively marina, there’s plenty to see and do in Port Douglas.
At the specified time and place, you’ll re-join the coach for the return drive to Cairns.
