Câmara de Lobos on your own
Madeira, Portugal
moderate
3:30 Hours
Enjoy self-guided visits to Madeira’s charming Câmara de Lobos village and dramatic Cabo Girão viewpoint.
Travelling west from Funchal you’ll wind your way along the coast to the picturesque fishing village of Câmara de Lobos, which was once painted by Sir Winston Churchill. Enjoy some free time strolling through the narrow streets and exploring the idyllic seafront. Then head up into the mountains, past important winegrowing areas, and through aromatic pine and eucalyptus forests, to spellbinding Cabo Girão.
You’ll have some free to explore the area and soak up breath-taking vistas of Funchal and the coastline, from the glass walkway overlooking the world’s second highest sea cliffs – which soar to 580 meters above the sea.
