Take to the water on a high-speed RIB and go in search of the ocean’s most magical creatures.
Jet out across the surface of the deep-blue Atlantic and head to the spots favoured by the cetaceans. Over 20 species have been sighted in these waters so keep your eyes peeled for short-finned pilot whales, bottlenose dolphins, Atlantic spotted dolphins, common dolphins and porpoises. Have your camera at the ready because some of these magnificent animals may choose to treat you to an ‘acrobatic show’.
If you have any questions about the various visitors to Madeira’s waters, a marine biologist is on hand and happy to help. And if you’re really lucky, you might spot the Risso’s dolphins, beaked whales and killer whales that occasionally appear near the coast.
