Gaze out at the picturesque landscape back dropped by mountains as you drive towards Borg, the site of an ancient Viking farm now known as Lofotr. Smell the open fires burning as you step inside the 270-foot long house at the reconstructed settlement and discover what life was like 1,000 years ago. Watch demonstrations of traditional crafts and meet the boars, fjord horses and other livestock outside.
On the panoramic drive back to your ship, stop off at two viewpoints for fantastic photo opportunities. At Hagskaret, look towards the wild Norwegian Sea or the expansive Vestfjord between the mainland and the nearby islands. From the lofty spot at Einangen, you’ll have the chance to observe your ship – looking like a miniature model – on the Buksnesfjord below.
