Monarchs and Missionaries, Hawaii’s Royal History

After riding through a scenic tropical rainforest, you’ll arrive at the Nuʻuanu Pali Lookout. Its Koolau cliff panoramas are magnificent, but it’s also the site of one of Hawaii’s most important battles. A spectacular tree-tunnel will direct you to Hawaii's sacred Royal Mausoleum, Mauna ‘Ala, the final resting place of six of the kingdom's last eight ruling monarchs. Then explore Iolani Palace, stop at King Kamehameha's statue, and visit Kawaiahao Church – the Westminster Abbey of the Pacific. You’ll also glimpse into 19th-century Hawaii at the Hawaiian Mission Houses Historic Site, home to two of Hawaii’s oldest houses.
