It’s just a short ride from the pier to Vollset, where you’ll begin your hike over Flofjellet on a route that was the only connection between Nordfjord and Møre & Romsdal, before the Hornindal road was built. This historic path was opened at the end of the 19th century and is a classic dirt road and without any steep inclines – but the fjord views are spectacular! You’ll also pass green meadows, rushing rivers, turquoise lakes and tumbling waterfalls, along with a collection of traditional mountain farms. After a picnic lunch at a scenic viewpoint, you’ll hike back down to Vollset.
