Castles and Boat Cruise

Embark on a scenic drive through the countryside of Schleswig-Holstein, dotted with patchwork lakes and lush forests. Small woods alternate rapidly with hedged, arable fields and the rural landscape is characterised by large, aristocratic estates and historic manor houses.

En-route to your river cruise, you’ll pass by the majestic Plön Castle, nestled on the hillside between two lakes. The 17^th century castle was the former residence of the Dukes of Schleswig-Holstein-Plön, during the Thirty Years’ War. Next, you’ll hop aboard a day boat to cruise the crystal clear waters across five interconnecting lakes to Malente. Soak up the magical fairytale atmosphere as you pass medieval villages scattered along the banks, surrounded by shady forests.

Following a delicious traditional three-course lunch, your last stop will be in the small town of Eutin, the City of Roses. Explore the former baroque gardens at Eutin Castle, which were developed during the 18th and 19th century into a beautiful landscaped park. Time permitting, enjoy some free time to stroll through the narrow streets of Eutin to the local market place.
