Arriving in the tiny hamlet of Bled on the dazzling shores of Lake Bled is like stepping into fairy tale – filled with ancient legends, azure waters and snow-capped mountains. A traditional pletna, gondola-like boat, will transport you to enchanting Bled Island, to the bottom of the 99 stone steps that lead up to the Church of the Assumption. Dating back to 1698, and lying in the shadow of a medieval castle, the church boasts wonderful frescoes and the Whishing Bell, which must be rung three times for your wishes to come true. Back in town enjoy some free time exploring on your own.
