Take a short walk through the charming old streets of Cognac, the birthplace of the famous eponymous brandy. Renowned for centuries throughout the world, cognac is a distillation of white wines from the Charente region. The peaceful little town boasts a number of 16th- and 17th-century buildings, including the House of the Lieutenancy, on the picturesque Rue Grande. Then cross the river by boat and enjoy a guided visit of the Hennessy Distillery. You’ll get a glimpse into the company’s illustrious history and take part in a tasting session, with some time for browsing Hennessy products in the gift shop.
