Le Havre, France
moderate
10:30 Hours
The Normandy landings of 6 June 1944 were a decisive moment in the Second World War, and this excursion commemorates their lasting significance. In Ranville, visit the beautifully landscaped War Cemetery, where more than 2,000 British servicemen are laid to rest, and Mémorial Pegasus, home to the first French bridge to be successfully captured by the Allies. In Crépon, a hotel lunch follows a photo stop at one of the landing beaches before the incredible story unfolds at the Museum of the Landings in Arromanches. The tour concludes at Longues-sur-Mer, where a well-preserved Wehrmacht artillery battery retains its original guns.
