Enjoy the Renaissance atmosphere of lovely Lucca as you explore its labyrinth of narrow streets brimming with medieval churches and 19^th-century piazzas.

After a short ride through the stunning Tuscan countryside you’ll arrive at the imposing Renaissance walls of Lucca, which encircle the city with more than two miles of ancient ramparts. As you follow your guide into the heart of the city, you’ll see the asymmetrical facade of the Romanesque-style Duomo, which was founded in the 6th century. It also happens to be the home of ‘Volto Santo’, a wooden carving of Christ said to have been made by Nicodemus, a witness to the crucifixion.

During your stroll through the maze of shaded, cobbled lanes, you’ll encounter the stunning oval-shaped Piazza dell’Anfiteatro. Built on the foundations of an ancient Roman amphitheatre, it offers 360 degrees of Italian, architectural charm and a collection of typical pastel-washed houses.
