7:30 Hours
Journey to the charming village of Delft, the birthplace of the famous Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer. Here you’ll visit the Vermeer Centre which offers a glimpse into the 17th century world of Vermeer. Although he created 37 paintings during his career, only seven are displayed in The Netherlands, with none in Delft, however the Centre features full-size reproductions, including his famous ‘The Girl with a Pearl Earring’. Explore independently with the assistance of an audio guide.
Afterwards, a short walk will bring you to the Market Square, where you’ll have free time to purchase lunch.
Re-join your group, and continue by coach to The Hague, where you’ll visit the Mauritshuis, where you'll have an independent visit of the Mauritshuis. Housed in an impressive 17th century building, the Mauritshuis is home to the Royal Cabinet of Paintings, which consists of 841 objects, mostly Dutch Golden Age paintings.
Marvel at masterpieces such as Vermeer's 'Girl with a Peral Earring', 'The Goldfinch' by Fabritius and 'The Bull by Potter' which are on permanent display. In addition to this, there is an entire room dedicated to the works of Rembrandt.
