On the drive to Puerto de la Cruz, stop off at the Humboldt viewpoint to take in the spectacular views across the Orotava Valley with Mount Teide forming the backdrop. Soon, you’ll reach the beautiful Botanical Gardens. Admire the kaleidoscopic collection of flowers and plants, many of which are original specimens brought by the conquistadors from the New World in 1788.
Unsurprisingly, the Orchid Gardens of Sitio Litre host the largest collection of orchids in the Canary Islands. Inhale the sweet aromas and you stroll around and enjoy a glass of local wine in the idyllic setting.
To round off your experience, spend some free time shopping in Puerto de la Cruz, or simply wander along the pretty, palm-lined promenade.
