Journey to the centre of Italy’s heel and stroll through one of the country’s charming gems – Martina Franca.

After passing through the main entrance to the old town, the beautiful Porta Santo Stefano, you’ll find yourself in lovely Piazza XX Settembre. Here you’ll discover a beautiful maze of winding alleys bursting with Baroque churches, Renaissance palaces and sparkling whitewashed houses.

Just inside the gateway is the pretty little Piazza Roma, one side of which is dominated by the Palazzo Ducale. Built in 1668, this remarkable Renaissance palace is Martina Franca's grandest civic building, which now houses the town hall.

Following your guide through the narrow lanes will lead you to the ornate Basilica of San Martino, which dates back to the 18th century. The basilica is dedicated to the patron saint of Martina Franca, who is usually represented on horseback sharing his cloak with a beggar.

After your captivating walk, you’ll have some free time to explore and enjoy the great range of shops, boutiques and cafés.
