Local Home Visit

Your host will meet you at the harbour and join you for a gentle walk back to their house along the banks of the beautiful River Nid. They’ll entertain you with legends and tales about the area’s colourful history and stunning natural environment, then invite you into their traditional wooden house to tuck into a typical Norwegian meal. Consisting of several provincial dishes which vary with the seasons, your feast may include brown cheese and caviar, reindeer sausage, or Norwegian waffles. It’s a great chance to chat informally about everyday life, and share a delicious local beer, or feisty aquavit – Scandinavian spirit.
