Board a tram on the Gråkallbanen line, the only remaining part of the Trondheim Tramway. The 9km route runs downhill from the town centre, affording you a gentle tour of green parks and picturesque old timber houses painted in vivid colours towards Lian.
From there you’ll trundle past 16th-century fortifications before climbing Byåsen Hill for splendid views of the River Nid, Nidaros Cathedral and fertile valleys. Disembarking the tram, journey on, passing Market Square's impressive statue of Viking King Olav Tryggvason. Pause at the panoramic Sverresli Viewpoint for standout vistas of the city and the harbour.
