Driving along the coastal road you will pass through the town of Nice and resort of Cagnes-sur-Mer on your way to St Paul de Vence.
The lovingly preserved, walled village of St Paul de Vence has changed little over the years. Its winding streets, old buildings and surrounding landscapes give it a unique charm and you’ll soon understand why it has long been a favourite haunt of artists.
Your guide will walk you to a central point in the village and then you’ll have free time to explore at your leisure. The main street, rue Grande, is pedestrianised and runs the length of the village. Many of the 16th and 17th century houses are now artists’ studios, antique shops and art and craft galleries, making this the ideal place to seek out the perfect gift or souvenir.
You may like to take a walk along the medieval ramparts to enjoy the beautiful views over the surrounding countryside and out to the Mediterranean Sea. Alternatively you may like to visit the Foundation Maeght, a world-class museum of modern art.
