A scenic drive takes you to Paklenica National Park. This unique, pristine area is a photographer’s dream. The name likely comes from the abundant black pine sap known as ‘paklina’. It’s widely used by local people as a traditional medicine to heal wounds, and also as a sealant coating for boats.
There’s no better way to explore the breathtaking scenery of the park than on foot. It stretches from the slopes of South Velebit, above Marasovici up to the spectacular mountain peaks of Vaganski vrh, Babin vrh, and Sveto brdo.
During your hike, you’ll discover winding rivers that have carved steep canyons from the landscape. There are also many unusual geomorphologic phenomena and forms well worth photographing. And if you’re an avid bird watcher or nature enthusiast, the fauna and flora surrounds you at every turn.
A short break will be made along the route to enjoy refreshments of fruit and water.
At the end of your hike with your lungs filled with the freshest air and your camera bursting with fond memories, you’ll head back to the ship.
