Summer Holidays

Whether you’re off to sunbathing-worthy shores or breezier climes, there are a few staples you’ll want to pack for your summer cruise holiday. We’d recommend bringing a swimming costume or swim trunks, t-shirts, shorts and flip-flops or sandals. We also consider protective gear like a sun hat, sunglasses and plenty of sunscreen with SPF essential – remember that even during moments the sun doesn’t feel too strong, UV rays can still reach you. If you’ve got some exploring planned, you could bring along a good pair of walking shoes or some comfy trainers, plus a reusable water bottle to top up on hydration while you’re active. And don’t forget your fanciest cocktail dress or dinner jacket for our Black Tie evening!

If you’re heading somewhere less clement, the Norwegian Fjords for instance, your luggage should reflect the variable weather instead. We’d recommend making sure you’ve got t-shirts, jumpers, long-sleeved tops, a raincoat, and a good pair of boots. And for our Black Tie evening, it’s the same as above – bring along your finest suit or fanciest dress, and don’t hold back!

• Sunscreen and lip-balm with SPF (if travelling to a snowy region)
• Salopettes, goggles, sunglasses and thermals (if travelling to a snowy region)

• Winter jacket/raincoat
• Boots
• Your dinner jacket, cocktail dress or ballgown (for our Black Tie evening)

If it’s bask-in-it heat that you and your family seek, consider Spain, France or Italy as your holiday hub, or the Norwegian Fjords if it’s milder climes still packed with sunshine that you’re after. If you’d prefer even cooler weather, maybe for the kind of outdoor activities available or just because you like the air to have a bit of a bite, you might enjoy a Baltic cruise; we travel to Germany, Finland, Russia, Estonia, Sweden and Denmark, where you’ll want to forget it’s technically sunshine season and of course pack for winter instead.
